Solar Power Coming to San Rafael High School

At its April 15, 2024 meeting, our Board of Trustees approved a project to install solar panel arrays at San Rafael High School. This initiative is an important step towards our district's goal of becoming more sustainable. The two new solar arrays, with a combined capacity of 499 kilowatts, are expected to save the district an estimated $2.5 million over their lifetime. These savings will be used to fund other important programs and projects for our students. Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2025 and is expected to be completed in March 2026.
